Kutless

It is hard to guess what this band is about looking at the cover of Sea of Faces. Open the insert, or play the first track and it quickly becomes apparent: This is Christian rock.

The question remains, though, what is Christian rock?

To Kutless, it must simply be rock-pop with a lyrical quality specific to religion rather than life experiences or punk or rap. Still, don’t let that put you off. Ignoring the message of the songs, Kutless is just as good as any other rock group. And if you do want to pay attention to the message, even better- all the lyrics on the album are very well sung and flow together quite effectively. The music is interesting in its use of rather down-beat instrumentation with uplifting lyrics to create a unique experience.
