The women hockeysaurs split their games Jan. 23-24 but still managed to move into fourth postion in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. The weekend wasn’t looking bright after losing 3-2 to the Red Deer College Queens who reside in the somewhat comfortable third position, but turned for the better the next evening. Saturday night featured Dino Tara Hammer putting the puck in the net three times to lead the team to a 5-2 victory over the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Ookpiks. This win means the Dinos hold the final playoff spot.



Roughnecks not so tough

The Calgary Roughnecks couldn’t pull off a win for their home opener Sun., Jan. 25 against the Vancouver Ravens in National Lacrosse League action. The Ravens dominated the Roughnecks and fully deserved the 14-10 win. The loss drops the Roughnecks to 1-2. Next up are the Colorado Mammoth in Denver Fri., Jan. 30, followed by a home game against the Arizona Sting Sat., Jan. 31. Both the Mammoth and Sting are ahead of the Roughnecks in the overall standings, however, both teams have also played more games.
