The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada announced on Mon., June 2 that 108 Calgary researchers will be among 290 recipients of new grants worth $34.4 million to conduct advanced research and train students in natural sciences and engineering.
“NSERC discovery grants are awarded to both new and established researchers,” said federal Minister of Health Anne McLellan. “The NSERC awards allow university professors to develop the next generation of scientists and engineers who will be essential to Canada’s success in the knowledge-based global economy.”
