MacEwan Hall hosted the third annual Women’s Career Day on Wed., Mar. 12.
“It’s all about promoting diversity and showcasing women in leadership roles,” said Program Director of the Women in Leadership Foundation David Mossman. “The fair also provides opportunities for employment for women, aboriginals and visible minorities.”
The focus of this year’s fair was the aboriginal perspective, with a two-hour workshop on aboriginal leadership. The Women in Leadership Panel followed the workshop, which gave students an opportunity to meet women leaders and ask questions.
The 20 displays ranged from Scotiabank and The Canadian Forces.
“We are exposing the women students of the U of C to the career opportunities available to females in the military,” said Second Lieutenant Wade Bowman, a Harvard Two pilot for the airforce. “We’ve had some really good interest here, a lot of women are interested in subsidies for their education.”
