Jesus Jones, Never Enough: The Best of Jesus Jones

By Peter Hemminger

It’s ironic that Jesus Jones chose to call their best of record Never Enough, since if anything it is just too much. However, the CD, which clocks in at over 70 minutes even without the additional hour of remixes, is still enjoyable. Most of the tracks are well written and contain infectious energy and a fair amount of hooks.

The band’s sound, a mix of electronica and rock, feels surprisingly modern. The problem is that with the exception of a few standout tracks such as "International Bright Young Thing" and "Right Here, Right Now," the songs begin to blend together. Even the remixes don’t stray too far from the formula, with the notable exception of tracks by Aphex Twin and The Prodigy. All in all, it’s just another best of compilation.
