Last weekend, while McGruff the Crime Dog was taking a bite out of crime, the Dinos managed to feast on Canada West competition in Edmonton.
Jessica King impressed with a gold medal in 60m hurdles. She also tied this year’s Canadian best in a 300m qualifying heat on her way to a somewhat disappointing bronze, trailing teammate Amy Barnett who took the silver–and took gold in the 600m race. Renee LaRocque destroyed the competition taking gold in women’s high jump.
Darren Clarke led the men winning both the 300m and 600m events. Michael MacDonald chip-ped in a gold in the shot put to cap off an great meet for the team.
The Dinos look strong, especially on the women’s side, and with Canada West finals coming up, they will likely kick ass all the way to nationals.
