To be honest, Kid A makes me feel stupid. I don’t understand where Radiohead started and where they’re headed. Kid A may be described as the band’s best but it’s not the best CD for beginners to begin their journey.
From a non-fan’s perspective, Kid A is different from anything else out there. It’s a textured album featuring techno beats, computerized voices and crazed saxes. It’s very much an album to slip into your disc drive to accompany your late-night essay writing sessions.
When you sit close to the stereo, you feel like you’re in the Radiohead womb. There’s nothing else around you and when Kid A finishes, you blink at the strong lights and want to know how it all started.
