Stuck in lame-date limbo? Then The Uptown may have your gig.
From Feb. 10 to June 14 the historic Calgary theatre will be showcasing a kaiediscope of music/performance art.
No top-40 crap here though. Instead catch folk, zydeco, jazz, classical guitar, dance, and comedy.
"The idea behind these concerts is simple: everybody wins!" says enthusiastic series producer Rob Lemorande.
Lemorande’s comment comes off the success of previous eclectic shows.
Featured next Thurs., Feb. 10 is the Valentine Special with spanish guitar, dance and poetry. Performers include university alumnus and classical guitarist Aileen Bache, dancer Catherine Maunder and narrator Bob French.
All performances start at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17.50 and can be purchased at TM or the Venus Cafe.
